Alfred Hitchcock with MGM Lion
by Clarence Sinclair Bull, MGM 1958

The exhibition opened at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Santa Barbara, California in 2008, and is drawn from the archive of the John Kobal Foundation.

This exhibition travels in the USA under the title MADE IN HOLLYWOOD: Photographs from the John Kobal Foundation

This exhibition focuses on the stars, the sets and the scenes created by the American film industry and captured by the most important photographers who worked in the Hollywood Studios from 1920-1960. From the silent era through the end of the studio system in the late 1950s, these camera artists captured and created the magic that Hollywood symbolized. Featuring more than 90 images, Made in Hollywood offers a glimpse into the world of fantasy, glamour and perfection that the image makers produced and which have ensured their names are etched into the pantheon of fine art photography.
